Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Tomas T — 23 Sep 2010
Dazed and Confused was a pleasant surprise. Hopes and expectations were not exactly high on this one but the movie proved to be funny and entertaining teenager flick. The name "Stoned, drunk and Confused" would however been even more spot on.
There is no much going around it, the movie is straight up teenager high school soap opera with all the mandatory aspects included. You have the bullies, cool athletes, the nerds, the beer parties, weed and lots of more weed and of course the mandatory love affairs. If I missed something major, sue me. The movie has not major faults in to list, the actors give credible acts, but there is nothing particularly astounding about it either which makes one wonder why the movie has received such high hype. Granted, people who have lived through the 70s in the States might disagree.
The best that the movie has to offer are the actors, it is great and funny to see some of todays big stars starting out their careers on a highschool movie which during its day could have not been considered as a "sure ticket to stardom".
