Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Peter D — 30 Jul 2011
Tied with Rushmore for the best highschool film I have ever seen. I find many of the characters strangely relatable despite not being much of a trouble making, going to a private middle and highscool and being neither a drinker or smoker.
I think the film really shows how misunderstood kids can be and how being forced into so many different situations causes them to rebel. The aimless direction in teenage life hits close to home and the need to find your own path is very relevant to teenagers and young adults.
This film is smart and funny and it manages to be something that is much more than just a highschool movie and it simply becomes a movie about life.
