Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Will B — 15 Sep 2013
Perhaps the best film about life during high school, Dazed and Confused plays out like an R rated American Graffiti, but reveals to be more than just a simple stoner comedy or a nostalgia trip. It touches on themes of growing up, and what it truly means to be a teenager in America.
Loaded with a cast of future stars, it is incredibly human, funny, and also perhaps a little melancholy underneath it's simple surface. It is a truly American film that feels as though it could be going on in some small town right as you watch it.
Simply put, beautiful.
