Review of Days of Wine and Roses (1963) by Tara W — 10 Jul 2008
Such a great movie.... Man,Jack Lemmon is incredible in so many ways, as is Lee Remick. Not my first viewing of it, but the first time I noticed Blake Edwards directed it, and the first time I made it through without bawling.
On a lighter note-- now we have a way to connect Jack Klugman to Jack Lemmon without using Walter Matthau and the Odd Couple if we want to play 6 Degrees of Separation... can't believe I missed that before! Anyway, definitely not an upper, but really moving, totally worth seeing, and reads like a period piece to me right now, even though the themes are timeless.
See it!
