Review of Days of Thunder (1990) by Alec N — 02 Jan 2012
In the world of NASCAR-themed movies, Days of Thunder is the best one yet. Sadly, that doesn't say much. The plot is a bit contrived, the dialogue can be downright "oh come on!" at times, and there's enough inaccuracies to make NASCAR fans roll their eyes.
But the film does tip its hat at times to stories from NASCAR lore (eating ice cream in the pits, rental car racing) and even 20 years later the names and cars in the movie are still recognizable to fans.
Decent, nowhere near stellar.
