Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Stefan R — 02 Dec 2007
Don't be fooled by the organic, ineloquent dialogue, unrevealing characters and idyllic setting. I probably don't have to say this since the simplicity will eventually bulldoze you with some otherworldly philosophical force.
This film is transcendental. Although I mean this in terms of style not as a gushing statement of aesthetic effect, it IS also overwhelmingly beautiful. See it. The very health of your eyes, ears and immortal soul depends on it.
