Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Maxwell S — 03 Jul 2012
Some people agree it is the beautiful film ever captured. I, too, am one of those people. Compared to it's more popular and modern predecessor (The Thin Red Line) it is more consistent, well constructed, beautiful and also more ahead of it's time.
And I still will say The Thin Red Line is one of the most beautiful films since this one and it is still a masterpiece as well. The Terrence Malick is one of the few true masters of cinema, mainly because he captures visuals better than ANYONE else CONSTANTLY.
This is Malicks best work and in my personal top 10 favorite films, which does mean a lot (The Thin Red Line is probably somewhere in my top 100, fyi).
