Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Ollie W — 08 Sep 2011
Just a complete masterpiece. Mallick follows up the superb Badlands with a equally poetic and sumptuous vision of obsession and violence, this time told through the eyes of Linda Manz' rye teenager and depicting the tragic plight of a poor and lowly couple caught up in a web of lies and confusion in American's early 1900's recession.
It's biblical, metaphorical, natural, organic and completely and utterly breathtaking.
