Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Rosanne S — 09 Jul 2011
Less of a story and more like a poem or a piece of music in the way it evokes human feeling, and unquestionably one of the most beautiful films ever created. Malick is unique in his consummate reliance on imagery rather than dialogue to carry the story, and in this sense he belongs with the silent filmmakers of yesteryear.
Brilliant and moving.
