Review of Days of Glory (2006) by Andy M — 05 Mar 2008
This is an interesting take on the War genre, focusing on a group of Muslins who join the French Army to fight the Nazis during the Battle of Algiers. The main theme of the film centralises on how they coped with predjudice from their French Cohorts while fighting for a country that they had adopted and fought for as their own.
Each character was well defined and it was not overly sentimental. Certainly worth a look if you're after something different from your general, run-of-the-mill WW II film.
