Review of Daydream Nation (2011) by Jally J — 05 Jun 2011
Kat Dennings is a star and this kind of role is just perfect for her. It's a shame that all the things surrounding her here are very bad. "Daydream Nation" is a self-indulgent and awfully pretentious movie that creates an incoherent mess - a cinematic Frankenstein - using pieces of extremely better pictures like "Donnie Darko", "American Beauty" and "Juno".
Excepting Dennings, this world is full of uncharismatic and irrelevant characters that doesn't offer anything to care. Disaster.
