Review of Daydream Nation (2011) by Madeline M — 18 Aug 2011
Most of the characters are losers, but some of them are redeemable. I think that's a brave choice, but the film still doesn't work: it feels like a first novel, where the writer has strong ideas about what he or she wants to accomplish and what messages should be in there and what themes and devices, but no idea about how to integrate them.
