Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Jay D — 17 Apr 2012
Not the best vampire movie I've seen nor the worst. There's multiple ideas taken from other vampire movies & other Sci Fi movies like The Matrix with the harvest fields of humans & with a blend of Blade thrown in as well. It throws it's own ideas into the ring as well but with a clever twist. Nor is it the best acted film I've seen sometimes bordering on amateurish.
It's set in the near future in a world which is full of vampires with the human population down to only 5%. This brings it's own problems as the vampires are close to starving as the human race is on the brink of extinction. Ethan Hawke is a blood doctor looking for a blood substitute but thanks to a chance encounter with a group of humans he stumbles across a cure.
