Review of Day Zero (2007) by Akash S — 18 Mar 2008
A interesting tale of 3 friends who really see their world after they realize it may not be there for them anymore. They kinda realize that everything they have is being taken for granted. yes some worked for it and earned it all but do they know the value of it, whether its a career, image, a reputation.
. I knew at some point that each of their perspectives are going to change but the whole film leads you on and makes you ask when is this going happen and how? the performances are good especially Elijah Wood and Jon Bernthal.
What I really liked about this film was the setting, NYC. really tells the audience of what new york is.. the Young Professionals, the struggling artists, the day to day earners, etc.. the end could have been a bit clear, but I would not have accepted any other, it was a good way to end the way they did.
the pacing and writing could have been worked on a bit more, but nothing major.. overall a good watch, entertaining, and thoughtful..
