Review of Day Watch (2006) by Rasmus P — 02 Jun 2008
2nd entry in the russian vampire epos is highly entertaining but wants too much and ultimately becomes messy. Timur proves, once again, that he can stage the action quite well, but fails when it comes to patch the diffrent styles in the film together.
Story wise it's a great continuation of the first, both adding to the plot while keeping the audience guessing what's next. If only the makers had mastered structure and flow, this could've been as good as, and maybe even surpassing, Night Watch.
