Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Tavis B — 17 Jul 2007
Critics derided this movie as trash but in the wake of the Grindhouse revival, they might be able to appreciate the film as a whole. Truly the definition of a Grindhouse movie with one of the best lines spoken in the end of a flick.
It's disturbing to watch and the villains unsympathetic, which makes you root all the more for the heroine to wreak revenge. Zarchi's film is about as much about the power of trauma, female empowerment and just kickin' ass all at the same time but in such a brutal, bloody way.
