Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Nigel M — 15 Nov 2008
After all of the hype... THAT'S IT? Neither intense nor graphic (by any standard), this film simply fails to deliver. The infamous "rape scene" is unbelievably tame and, well, simply unbelievable.
The only redeeming quality of this movie is its 1970's camp, which by the end, feels dated for the later part of the decade. No tension, no brutality, and a complete failure in message.
