Review of Day of the Outlaw (1959) by Zoran S — 20 Jul 2011
A masterful Western from the great Andre De Toth. The stunning Winter photography has more in common with later Theo Angelopoulos films than with Westerns from the 50's. The staging and camera movements are all superb and the anti-violence message never seems heavy-handed.
A masterpiece.
