Review of Dawn of the Dead (1978) by Anssi V — 10 Oct 2011
For some reason I really hate this film's lightning. It's too bright and colourful, I feel like I'm watching a romantic comedy rather than a zombie movie. But yeah, that's just me. Other than that, the film is not that bad, for a zombie movie that is.
The story is... well, it's a zombie movie, take a guess how the story is. The characters are okay, though, and the film has some really good scenes. I totally cracked up when they started shooting celebrity zombies as a game when they got bored.
Or when they communicated with a guy who was trapped on the other side of a street using written messages on whiteboards - and they used this to play chess, naturally. The film is clichéd, but seeing that it's a remake of a classic, it is.
.. well, not okay, but understandable. All in all, an okay film. Nothing more, nothing less.
