Review of Dawn of the Dead (1978) by Rebecca D — 10 Jan 2013
A loud and obnoxious exercise in missing the point. Where the original had humour and social commentary, this one has running and shouting. Where the original had visceral horror and disturbing imagery, this one has running and shouting. Where the original had an epic feel in spite of budgetary restriction, this one... well you get the idea.
There are far too many characters for you to become attached to any of them, and even if there were less of them, they're all deeply unlikeable.
The first of many in a long list of atrocious films from director Zack Snyder.
