Review of Daughters of Darkness (1971) by Ali M — 18 Apr 2008
Not nearly as trashy as it looks, Daughters of Darkness is instead an incredibly atmospheric, incredibly strange and surreal, and well-cast lesbian vampire flick that obviously influenced The Hunger to a great extent.
Shot on location at several especially sumptuous hotels in Belgium (I think), and with an amazing soundtrack, this film is a terrific reimagining of the vampire story. Delphine Seyrig is, I think, the most charmingly chilling vampire ever.
