After being tired of taking care of their children and working too much, Phil and Claire Foster hire a babysitter to watch their children while they go out on a date night. Phil wants to impress Claire by taking her out into a new popular restaurant. But when reservation is hard to get-Phil decides to steal the reservation of a couple who does not show up, the Tripplehorns. This leads to two hitmen, who want something from them-something Phil and Claire Foster do not have (after all, they are not the Tripplehorns).

The story is original, but for some reason it feels like the average action-comedy film. Thankfully, it concentrates more on the main characters rather than on the tale. Phil and Claire love each other very much, they aren't the type of couple you'd see fighting all the time, and they devote their lives to their children and jobs. Unfortantley, this means that there is no time for each other because once they get home from work to prepare their children for bed-they are much too worn out to do nothing but then to rest. Humor is brought into this lonely situation, for example: In one scene a friend of Claire speaks of her husband only having sex with her twice a week. Claire is somewhat shocked as she mocks her friends word, "You guys were having sex twice a week?" she says this as if it's a big number. Her friend looks at her and sighs, "That rare." and Claire lies, "Yes rare." (Please note that these are not the exact words being said in the movie). Phil and Claire are such an average couple, and it's funny seeing them on the run from dangerous hitmen-as serious as that sounds it's actually humorous. It's a good thing that the couple is played by Tina Fey and Steve Carell who just so happen to be experts of charm-otherwise this film might have just fell flat. If not a fan of Tina Fey and Steve Carell's humor (very rare to find someone who doesn't admire them), then it's probably better to stay away from this film. But if you are a fan of one or both of the listed people, then watch it.
