I usually seem to agree with the general consensus on comedies, but this time I think the critics are way off. They exaggerate the "gross-out humor" and obvious and unfunny parodies, and disregard the dry wit that intelligent people like myself wll find amusing.
This is really an arthouse comedy packaged as a formulaic spoof movie. Go see it, and hopefully you get it. If you don't, then there's no reason to try to explain it's genius to you.
