Best war, submarine movie.. no, one of the best movies ever. I checked the original miniseries recently and I was just awe-strucked. I remembered that this was good, but how good this was.. Lots of tight-packed tension, damn good music, almost orgastic machine-porn with hellava good actors.
Miniseries is the proper way to see this one, almost 5h extatic depressing bad luck ass kicking.
