Review of Das Boot (1981) by Deepak R — 02 Feb 2011
The movie is perhaps the most thorough representation of life and death in a U-Boat during WWII. Everything is portrayed, from the insane boredom, to the claustrophobia, to the chilling suspense and fear of the above.
The presentation and camera work is amazing. You can feel the disgusting humidity, you travel along the boat with everyone else, you feel immersed in their world completely. Its over three hours of suspense and terror.
Absolute must watch. Blows all other submarine movies out of the water completely.
