Review of Das Boot (1981) by Immortal D — 29 Jul 2008
Greatest submarine movie ever.
This is as real as it gets.
If this film had a feeling it was claustrophobia and stench.
The former was very easy to convey on film but the latter you had to imagine, which wasn't very hard in a few scenes.
The best part of this film for me was the stop-over they had and the banquet that was set before them.
The Captain going straight for the fruit was classic.
The end, most viewers won't like or care for, just shows how ironic life really is, clearly making this film a classic among war films.
