Review of Das Boot (1981) by Raymond W — 19 Dec 2011
This is one of those rare movies that's well over three hours, nothing much happens, yet it's compelling cinema from start to finish. And you root for the Germans. Seriously, Wolfgang Peterson succeeds on every level.
By recreating the claustrophobic terror in the U-boat. By provided a salute to the patriotism and badass-ness of a military that is willing to go through hell and back. This is one of the best WWII films ever made.
