Review of Darkness Falls (2003) by Kayla P — 21 Mar 2008
Judging this film by it's first 10 minutes or so, you'd think you were about to see a very original horror tale with the potential for some big scares. Unfortunately the movie slows pace and, in turn, falls short of it's potential.
I find Emma Caulfield immensely watchable, but the formulaic run of events don't help her or her co-stars much. There are some effective scares (including a tense sequence with a group of characters jumping staircases to avoid the dark) but the ending seems out of place.
Overall then, the good aspects of the movie outweigh the bad...just.
