Review of Darkness Falls (2003) by Alicia S — 23 Aug 2009
The world is a strange, occassionally scary place...but at least we don't have deranged tooth fairies trying to kill us for no apparent reason. Think about that the next time you walk down a dark alley.
It benefitted greatly from excellent marketing. However, the stellar marketing ploys that were used, were betrayed by an awful script. There was no thought put into the writing of this and even less thought put into the execution. The characters are barely there, you'd do just as well to put paper dolls on screen. This is one of those movies that when I watch it, I sit back, stuff my face to the brim with popcorn, and try to figure out two things. 1.) Exactly how much light can the tooth fairy handle? 2.) Exactly how bad does a script have to be for a studio not to greenlight it?
Darkness Falls poses both questions, but sadly, offers no answers to either.
