Review of Darkman (1990) by Jordan D — 21 Jul 2008
Oh Shoot. Mr Raimi... I raise my hands in amazement at how you made both Frances McDormand and Liam Neeson suck so terribly bad. That is truly an amazing accomplishment.
Now being a off and on Raimi fan (I thought the Evil Dead Series was great, along with A Simple Plan.... however my only thoughts with Spiderman 3 were more along the lines of "what the hell") I had a little bit of hope for this movie... and to be honest the story isn't all that bad. In fact with some tact it could have been a really fun dark take on a superhero...
However what it turns out to be is a mess of horrid acting by two amazing actors, bad special effects and one of the dumbest villains ever. Seriously how hard is it to hit someone with a rail-gun at a range of three feet. I guess, It must be very hard.
One thing that dives me nuts is when evil henchmen act really really nuts, make lots of of angry/serious faces, and laugh alot. Needless to say with this movie I was in a constant state of irritation.
