Review of Darkman (1990) by Hunter D — 09 Sep 2008
Revisiting this movie, it's not as cool as I remember it being. It has Raimi's signaure camerawork, some truly awesome action sequences, and performances that range from fun and hammy to just awful.
The villain of the piece is lame, the final setpiece is boring, and the pink elephant sequence is laughable. It has its moments, but ultimately its probably one of Raimi's weaker outings. It certainly help Raimi cut his teeth for 'Spider-Man' though.
