Review of Darkman (1990) by Matthew A — 02 Sep 2009
Quite a well done comic book flick.
Darkman just earned his place among my favourite comic book heroes. His story is a dark one. Originally he was a scientist, who was working on how to help people regenerate tissues of their body if those were damaged. However one day a bunch of gangsters broke into his lab, killed his co-worker and destroyed his lab, with him in it. However just like many other comic book heroes of similar style, he survived and decided to take justice into his own hands by punishing every single gangster and calling himself The Darkman.
The movie has pretty all right special effects. If you consider the time it was made in, those are pretty good. The overall action was rather entertaining and kickass.
Acting was definitely good. I mean Liam Neeson plays the main character. Enough said already. Plus the other characters were acted out rather well too and were pretty believable.
Overall I thought it was a pretty good superhero action movie. I think any fan of dark heroes should watch this.
Now bring on the two sequels...
