Review of Darkman (1990) by Cameron D — 23 Oct 2010
This was Sam Raimi's first crack at the superhero movie genre, and it does feature some of the usual eccentricities were used to seeing in his movies. So this effort has some touches of Batman and Spawn, with a little bit of the Evil Dead movies intertwined.
This combination of dark and slapstick does create an awkward, unbalanced tone, but the action is still kind of neat. Raimi's future success with the superhero genre would of course come a decade later, but this one is an odd, but charming movie.
