So Gary Oldman put a fat suit on and mugged his way through this highly self-indulgent film. Woop de fucking do.

To save you the trip and a tenner, be warned. This film basically portrays Churchill as a sympathetic old man who only wants to go to war in order to save the everyman on the street. The proles of London infant inspire him to do so in a nauseating sequence where the big man finally decides to throw away the chance of a peace deal following a jolly chat with a diverse group of London's commuters.

So unquestioning and sentimental it is offensive.
