Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Jordan P — 31 Aug 2018
This movie was amazing. The cinematography was gorgeous, the acting was spot on and the plot was thick and rich. Ends up feeling like a companion to other period pieces of the time like the King's Speech, which is no small compliment.
The narrative was especially rousing because in American society, it is less and less felt that you should serve and die for your country, but this was not how our ancestors lived. What is sad is that with all of the technology and knowledge that we have gained in the 70 years since the war, not only do Churchill's words ring true that that was their "finest hour," but it's unlikely we will see the same level of patriotism and honor grip our nation as they saw by the end of our lives.
We live in the rising generation of coward and sloth.
