Tim Burton effectively drives a stake into the beloved horror soap opera of the 1960s and 1970s. Burton attempts to make the originally terrifying Collins family into The Addams Family and it fails miserably.
You would think Burton and Depp would be the perfect match for this gothic trope, but sadly you are mistaken. Burton should have went for the R rating and approached this film like he did "Sleepy Hollow.
" Which is ironic, because that's what this film is: Hollow, and so boring it puts you to sleep.
