I sincerely disagree starkly with the negative reviews that Dark Places has been getting! I went to see the movie in a lazy Saturday evening without many expectations and it literally glued me to the screen! I believe that the plot is really terrific, that the actors made a great role and that the story is very consistent and well written.

Plus it is a story with lots of «real world references» - poverty, social welfare, family breakdown, the possible manipulation of children as witnesses, the religious hysteria that occasionally emerges - that make the story extremely credible.

This could have happened! In contrast to «gone girl», to which it is unfairly compared, this latter movie seems extremely biased and honestly more of a caricature than a credible story! This is a great movie in my humble opinion and it deserves to be seen!
