To begin I only watched this movie because Charlize Theron is in it, and knowing she was in it the movie had to be good. Dark Places is exactly that, a dark eerie film about the life of Libby Day. The movie starts out slow as the build up takes you through the story, nicely put together and the only things that I didn't feel fit were the reminisces of the past where the film style changed and didn't quite blend in.

The acting for the most part was very well played, and of course Charlize Theron pulled her weight as always. The story-line was sort of soft yet it played in well with the help of the acting. Is it a good movie? I liked it, for an independent film I think it turned out better than most well financed films. Is the movie worth owning or buying? Absolutely, I feel it is worth owning personally and worth watching it many times over; this is one of those movies that's about preference and it fits my movie preferences.

If your movie taste are into drama, crime, or dark thrillers this one is right up your alley. The cast fit their roles very well, the biggest portion of the cinematography fit well. Definitely a movie that will make it in my DVD Collection.
