Review of Dark Blue (2002) by Bryan W — 25 Jun 2007
Kurt Russell should have been nominated for an Oscar in this film. This film was deliberately overlooked by most of Hollywood because the way L.A.P.D. was depicted in the movie. People will invariably compare Dark Blue with Training Day.
While both films deal with corrupt law enforcement they both very different films. Dark Blue hits much closer to home because it dealt with the direct result of the Rodney King trial and the resulting L.
A. riots. Anyone living in L.A. at the time will instantly related with Dark Blue.
