I think that after Cyrano de Bergerac, this is the best #GerardDepardieu's performance. His Danton is energetic, powerful, scene-stealer and brutal. Wajda's portrayal of post-revolutionary Terror in 1790s France is portentous, between a political thriller and a court room drama.
