What? What?! Hey, I dig it. Everyone has a guilty pleasure film or two and I'll be damned if this isn't one of mine. The effects and whatnot don't hold up too badly today compared to some other examples from the late 90's.

Pierce Brosnan (who is the *NEW* voice of Thomas The Tank Engine, my brothers) and Linda Hamilton give decent enough performances and the story gradually picks up pace nicely and I'd say the volcano payoff is worth the wait.

It's cheesy in places, but then it's bound to be. And come on, who doesn't have a cheeky little "get in" smile on their face when the dog escapes death by making the jump on the back of the truck? Anyone who says they didn't smile is a liar.

Well, I liked it anyway. Overall, it's a fun way to kill 109 minutes during a night in.
