Review of Dante's Peak (1997) by John L — 15 Jan 2015
While it has slightly better grounding in seismology, geology and volcano science than "Volcano" - it's competition released the same year - it suffers very badly from cheap, predictable plot devices and cheesy cliched script dialog.
Dante's Peak does nothing original with the worn out disaster movie formula beyond blowing up an entire mountain for the genre's required cataclysm. Not just a movie about a disaster, the movie itself is a disaster.
