When it comes to most Hollywood action/disaster movies, the plots are extremely cliched. This is no exception. However, having Brosnan and Hamilton in the leads was a masterful stroke of casting by the production team.
They have so much charisma and chemistry that they fully engage the viewer in the plight the town of Dante's Peak go through when a dormant volcano suddenly erupts.
