Review of Dante's Peak (1997) by Jay L — 23 May 2010
I'm a sucker for disaster movies, yea I admit it. Dantes peak is a Roger donaldson film in which a dormant volcano begins to wake up. Pierce brosnan and Linda Hamilton star in this action packed disaster movie. 1997 was the year for volcano movies, dantes peak being the better of the two, volcano being the other movie. Good disaster scenes and brosnan is convincing as a paranoid USGS volcanologist. Linda Hamilton is awful as the mayor of the city that lies below the mountain.
Recommend to disaster movie fans as the disaster scenes in this movie do not disappoint and are quite realistic.
Bottom line is that Roger donaldson is bigger and better than this movie.
