Review of Danny Collins (2015) by Mona S — 03 Apr 2015
This is a very good movie about an aging Rock and Roller who confronts his life. If it hadn't had one lapse into a movie cliche toward the end (No Spoiler Here) I would give it stars. I never was much of a John Lennon fan and his music is featured he and he plays a role in the movie, but it was an issue for me.
Al Pacino and Annette Bening have wonderful on-screen chemistry but Christopher Plummer and the under rated Bobby Cannavale are the real standouts and Giselle Eisenberg, who is about 7 or 8 I would guess, steals every scene she is in.
Except for the one slip, and that is only my opinion, this is a nearly perfect movie. Not in wide release yet, but look for it.
