Review of Dangerous Liaisons (1988) by Darren D — 16 Mar 2008
Classy, sylish and witty. I can't praise this movie (by director of 'The Queen', Stephen Frears) enough. Cruel Intentions is based on this and though it's quite enjoyable, it doesn't have any of the class or charm of Dangerous Liaisons.
Close and Malkovich put in perfect performances, as do most of the cast. Even Keanu Reeves is perfectly fine in the role as the young, naieve music teacher.
Dangerous Liaisons is an engrossing film. It does not get much better than this!
