Still Frears best movie - but with a cast and screenplay like that, how could it go wrong? Glenn Close delivers what is perhaps the best performance by an actress in 30 years.
Malkovich, deliciously miscast, surprises as a Valmont - he lacks the looks, but has all the 'coolness' teh character needs.
And what can be said about the final scene? Glenn Close, a mirror and some make-up. Unforgettable.
