Review of Dangerous Beauty (1998) by Cynthia A — 31 Jul 2007
Decadent, intelligent, engaging, joyful, and all too believable. How do you convince your beautiful, all-too devout daughter that she must take up life as a courtesan in order to feed the family? Seduce her by showing her the libraries she can't access otherwise.
Not a family movie, for most people, and certainly not appropriate for the under 12 set. However, if you have teens and can manage to watch it with them, it can provoke some very interesting conversations (and they probably already know about anything sexual that's hinted at or shown in the film, anyway).
