Review of Danger: Diabolik (1968) by Colin C — 17 Jan 2008
I can understand why the brilliant team of MST3K chose to ravage this movie, but at the same time I can't bring myself to look past its inexplicable charm to see all the gaping flaws. Who can deny the rollicking excitement of seeing Diabolik slaughter one innocent after another in his pursuit of vast riches? Who can deny the sheer joy of watching bumbling Italian authorities trying to make deals with equally-bumbling local crime syndicates to capture him? Or the sublime weirdness of the soundtrack, courtesy of the incomparable Ennio Morricone? I submit that no one outside the cast of MST can.
