Review of Dane Cook: Vicious Circle (2006) by Brittaniisa S — 10 Oct 2007
There aren't enough words to express the severe disappointment that accompanied this steaming pile of poo. I used to looove Dane Cook. Retaliation was hysterical and I saw him at Penn State for Tourgasm.
He was quality. When Vicious Circle came out, he was coming off of Employee of the Month and I knew he was in the process of selling out... I just had no idea that would happen so quickly. The bits went on for way too long (it felt like I was only told five jokes in the whole hour and a half).
The bits were over the top, even for Cook and allowed me complete comprehension of what people meant when they said he's become a caricature of himself. The only part of this travesty that I found funny was the stuff from earlier in his career that he threw in at the end (a few from Retaliation and Tourgasm, I believe).
It's pretty pathetic that he bailed on everything and everyone who supported him for so long in order to attain mainstream fame. I hope someone shits on his coat the next time he visits the BK Lounge.
